FM Approvals is seeking a highly motiv ated business development advanced enginee r to support growth in the Hazardous Location, and Industrial Internet of Things ( IioT ) markets. This role will help drive new opportunities, strengthen customer engagement, and support product certification initiatives across the Americas. Responsibilities Identify and qualify opportunities in targeted industries. Develop and execute annual business plans. Build and maintain working relationships with team members, customers, and member companies within the America s. Overnight t ravel to customers, events and trade shows (Typically 25 % or more ) . Support the development of technical knowledge and communication of market trends to internal and external audiences. Develop and maintain an understanding of the targeted industries including regulation landscape, competitors’ intelligence, challenges and opportunities . Key Competencies Strong communication skills (written, phone, in-person, presentations) . Demonstrated a bility to work effectively as an individual contributor and supportive member of a team . Exceptional customer service skills . Self-motivated with a passion to learn individually and from others . Good analytical , organizational, and problem-solving skills . Qualifications: Bachelors degree in engineering or business / marketing degree with relevant experience in an engineering / technical role 4 years of relevant experience in product certification, industrial automation, I i oT , or engineering roles . Working knowledge of Hazardous Location standards such as FM, ATEX, IECEx , NEC/CEC, UL, or CSA. Experience with IIot technologies, including industrial sensors, connected devices, communication protocols, and condition monitoring systems is beneficial. Strong ability to translate technical certifica t ion requirements into clear customer value propositions. Experience in business development, technical sales and/or marketing for industrial or regulated sectors. Knowledge of FM Approvals certification offerings and/or FM Loss Prevention Data Sheets is beneficial. Moderate high: PowerPoint, Excel, Word , Outlook The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
