About usThe Mission of the Boys & Girls Club of East Providence is to inspire, enable, engage, and foster learning in all young people, especially those who need us the most, to help them realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.Director of Development & MarketingBoys & Girls Club of East ProvidencePOSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of The Boys & Girls Club of East Providence's marketing and fundraising including, the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns. The Director of Development & Marketing works closely with the Chief Executive Officer in all development, marketing, and fund-raising endeavors.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications.
  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
  • Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies.
  • Direct capital campaigns, annual fund program, and other fundraising drives, including mailings.
  • Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share info about the organization with the community.
  • Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems. Maintain gift recognition programs.
  • Oversee creation of publications to support fund raising activities.
  • Identify, recruit and train board members to participate in solicitation and other income development activities.
  • Oversee and support board committees responsible for planning and implementing development activities.
  • Assist with grant seeking, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Club's annual budget, controlling. expenditures within budget, and maintaining donor and financial records in accordance with standards.
  • Researches and analyzes agency, corporate, individual and foundation donor base and recommended solicitation strategies.
  • Oversees and evaluates marketing/communication activities and identifies opportunities to improve results.
  • Ensures the visibility of club activities and maintains positive public relations.
  • Oversees the design, development and distribution of all marketing collateral used to promote the organization and fund-raising activities; maintain brand compliance.
  • Works with other departments to obtain outcome data required to support fundraising efforts and satisfy funders.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of a strategic communications plan.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
    • Have knowledge and experience in fund raising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising.
    • Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers.
    • Be a "self-starter" and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
    • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability.
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 5 years minimum experience in professional fundraising. This is a full-time position that may require evening and weekend hours. This job will be primarily remote through January 2022. A hybrid work schedule will be available beginning in 2022, dependent on meeting and event schedules. Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000 - $78,000.00 per yearBenefits:
