Job Description:
Job Overview:As the Solutions Design - Sr. Manager, you will
play a crucial role in leading our warehouse design and network
optimization projects. Your primary responsibility will be to
oversee new projects and drive the end-to-end design, development
and solutioning of innovative solutions that enhance UNFI s
capacity and network. This will be achieved through assessing:
warehouse sizing, warehouse design, network capacity, automation,
optimal process flow and various other network supply chain
intricacies (e.g: transportation, procurement, etc.) while meeting
all stakeholder demands. You will lead and collaborate closely with
cross-functional teams to ensure the project development and
successful execution of internal projects that optimize our network
and drive operational efficiency.Job Responsibilities:Lead
continuous improvement and re-engineering initiatives such as, but
not limited to process re-design and improvements, warehouse layout
design, slotting, varying levels of automation.Collaborate with
cross-functional teams to solve challenges related to new customer
onboarding, including integrating their requirements into our
network, processes, and warehouse design. These various internal
stakeholders, include but not limited to procurement, IT, sales,
transportation, finance, HR, operations, and other national teams
to name a few, to understand their requirements and
challenges.Provide leadership, direction, training, development and
daily guidance to internal associates.Provide advanced analytical
support such as conducting in-depth analysis of our network
infrastructure and warehouse design, identifying areas for
improvement and optimization to include, but not limited to
procurement, distribution, transportation, and facility
layout.Assess and optimize network capacity to support the growing
demands of our customers and ensure seamless order
fulfillment.Conduct comprehensive ROI analysis and develop business
cases to support automation, operational flow, and network
optimization projects. Present findings to internal stakeholder and
leaders.Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies in
warehouse design, automation, and network optimization, and
proactively identify opportunities for innovation and
improvement.Lead brownfield and greenfield warehouse design
projects, integrating various types of automation solutions to
optimize operations and enhance productivity.Measure and analyze
key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse design
projects and identifying areas for further improvement.Proactively
design new tools and support the development of national Facility
Design standards and playbook.High skilled and excellent in
utilizing and leveraging software applications in support of design
activity, and design and analytical tools including: AutoCAD,
Excel, MS Power BI, Access or similar database tools (e.g Alteryx)
and presentation software.Utilize excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate
with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Utilize strong
analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic
mindset.Telecommuting available.Education/Certification:Bachelor s
Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a closely
related Engineering field.Experience:Warehouse distribution and
third-party logistics providers in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.Must have
six years of experience in position(s) where requisite experience
obtained.Implementing new warehouse distribution centers and
warehouse automation.Warehouse design (i.e. layouts, elevations,
rack systems, sizing, capacity, and wms system capabilities), and
warehouse budgeting (labor, opex, capex).AutoCAD and Ability to
analyze large and complex data sets with Analytical Tools (e.g.: MS
Power BI, Access, Alteryx).Warehouse automation and providing
measurable achievements in optimizing warehouse performance,
reducing operational costs, and enhancing warehouse efficiency.All
