Job Description:
Catholic Medical Center invites passionate and dedicated nursing
students to apply for the position of RN Student Nurse Extern PRN
in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This position offers a unique
opportunity to gain hands-on experience and deepen clinical skills
within a supportive and educational environment. As part of our
team, you will work alongside experienced nurses and healthcare
professionals dedicated to providing excellent care and
contributing to our community's health and wellness. This PRN (per
diem) role allows flexible scheduling to accommodate academic
commitments while offering invaluable real-world experience in a
progressive care setting. Assist with the monitoring of patients
and manage care under the supervision of registered nurses and
physicians. Support in administering medications and updating
patient health records. Participate in rounds and collaborate with
the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient outcomes. Engage in
health promotion and maintenance activities. Prepare patients and
assist with examinations and treatments. Attend and participate in
educational sessions and training to enhance nursing knowledge and
skills. Strong understanding of clinical practices and protocols.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with
team members and patients. Ability to observe and track patient
health data and make informed decisions. Capability to manage time
effectively and prioritize tasks. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support
(BLS) Certification by the American Heart Association or
equivalent. Currently registered as a nursing student.
