ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: High proficiency in both ED and
MS/PCU, willingness to float Description: Provides professional
nursing care within the department assigned. Coordinates care
planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the
psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care. Determines
priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of
patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the
system. Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient
status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Responds
quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to
treatment. Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all
patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric,
geriatric, and general patient population. Ability to adequately
assess and reassess pain and utilize appropriate pain management
techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain
management. Ability to revise the plan of care as indicated by the
patient's response to treatment and evaluate the overall plan daily
for effectiveness. Performs patient care responsibilities
considering needs specific to the standard of care for the
patient's age. Knowledge of medications and their correct
administration based on age and clinical condition. Follows the six
medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and
evaluates the effectiveness of learning, including family in
teaching as appropriate. Demonstrates ability to assist physicians
with procedures and performs services requiring technical and
manual skills. Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and
provide services to the level of licensure. Demonstrates knowledge
of cardiac monitoring, identifying dysrhythmias and treating
appropriately based on ACLS protocol. Ability to monitor the
hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interpret the results.
Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise the
plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and
evaluate the overall plan daily for effectiveness. Provides care to
patients with compromised nutritional/metabolic status. Provides
care to patients requiring extensive fluid and electrolyte
management. Communicates appropriately and clearly with charge
nurse, coworkers, and physicians. Consults other departments as
appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to
patients' needs. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized,
and function well under stressful situations. Other duties as
assigned. Rural experience is preferred. Must be able to work
independently and hit the ground running. Dress code: Personal
scrubs of any color required. Applicants must be willing to float
to different units as needed. COVID vaccination required. PALS or
ENPC required within six months of hire. Every other weekend
