Job Description

Agawam Hunt is a private Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island, established in 1897. The Club is under new ownership and has a talented management team and a top-notch culinary and beverage team that is running several outlets and beginning to accept select outside events.

We are searching for a passionate, inventive, and responsible manager who knows how to grow a business from within its walls. You will deliver a high-quality experience and motivate our staff to provide the same, with warmth.

We are offering a full-time position that includes personnel management, event coordination, as well as administrative and human resource efforts. Because the Club and position are still growing, we would like this individual to be able to float through several positions when necessary, and lead the dining room floor on a daily basis.

DINING ROOM MANAGER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
  • Keeps inventory of dining room beverage programs and ensures adherence to purchasing, receiving, stocking and ordering guidelines
  • Keeps an inventory of dining room items including china, glassware, silverware, event wares, linen and dining room supplies
  • Monitors dining room labor and supplies budget; makes adjustments as necessary to achieve financial goals
  • Deliver superior service and maximize guest satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to guest complaints
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
  • Organize and supervise shifts
  • Appraise associate performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Estimate future needs for venue goods, packaging and cleaning products
  • Manage restaurant's good image and suggest ways to improve it
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety and service regulations
  • Assures a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining rooms.
  • Supervises and trains dining room staff; manages within budgetary restraints; schedules personnel and plans room set-up based upon anticipated guest counts and operational needs
  • Takes reservations and checks table reservation schedules
  • Greets and seats members and guests
  • Carefully supervise to help assure proper service; pours coffee and takes orders when necessary
  • Inspects dining room employees to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms at all times.
  • Hires, trains and supervises dining room staff
  • Provides appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, purchasing, etc.
  • Receives and handles complaints concerning food, beverages or service
  • Serves as liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff
  • Assures that all side work is accomplished and all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule
  • Directs pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel
  • Relays information and policy changes and briefs personnel
  • Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and proper set-up of the dining rooms.
  • Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies
  • Makes suggestions about improvements in dining room procedures and layout
  • Produces daily/meal period sales analyses and other reports used in the dining room
  • Assures that the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day
  • Develops and maintains the guest dining room reservation system
  • Develops and supervises sales income control systems
