Aspen is a Tier 1/2 Automotive supplier of PyroThin thermal barriers, and our Pyrogel and Cryogel products are used by virtually all leading petrochemical and refining company across more than 50 countries. OUR OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a Sr. Director, Human Resources to join our growing team and serve as the HR leader for our Manufacturing & Operations organization at our plant in East Providence, RI. In this role, you will provide strategic thought and direction to the leadership team to drive HR practices and programs, leading the development of appropriate HR strategies for the business. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic HR thought leader who will use their experience to support the organization as it works through a period of high growth and change. You must have the ability to function in a fast paced and innovative environment, be a self-starter and not be afraid of problem-solving both simple and complex issues.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Talent Management:

  • Partner with leadership team and Talent Acquisition team to ensure a pro-active workforce plan and recruiting strategy is in place and well-executed, and will scale as we grow.
  • Partner with leadership team to collaboratively execute on the short and long-term vision for key talent initiatives that improve effectiveness, analyze workforce capability/skills requirements, anticipate hiring and development needs, and help to achieve our overall business goals.
  • Champion talent management in the organization to ensure improved attraction, retention and development of staff which improves performance of the business and builds the bench strength of the management team.
  • Coach and develop the leadership team to work cohesively and effectively, building on their management capabilities and ensuring that they improve the performance and output of their own people resources.
  • Drive effective implementation of the performance management processes to accomplish strategic initiatives.
  • Provide executive coaching with a focus on strategic advice, counsel, and consultative solutions to various leaders on the people-management aspects of their business.

Organizational Design and Development:

  • Partner with leadership team on strategic needs and growth initiatives as company expands.
  • Guide and direct leaders on organizational design, development and change management solutions required for successful outcome.

Engagement & Culture:

  • Develop strong partnership with the leaders and employees at all levels of the organization within this business.
  • Enhance company culture change by diagnosing current and desired states, gaps between them and actions necessary to move from one to the other.
  • Communicate and reinforce the company's values, beliefs and philosophies about people to enable us to develop a high performing organization.

HR Operations and Management:

  • Drive and direct the implementation of HR programs for this business including annual performance, salary and talent reviews.
  • Work directly and indirectly to coach and counsel managers on management and employee issues to achieve satisfactory resolution. Utilize performance management process and disciplinary action where appropriate.
  • Ensure equitable and consistent management of the company's compensation programs working with Compensation and senior management to ensure Aspen attracts and retains top talent.
  • Work systematically to diagnose problems, analyze data, identify root causes, and recommend solutions for HR related business issues. Develop creative and innovative solutions for improvement. Drive efficiencies.
  • Manage and continuously develop a team of HR professionals. Work with Corporate HR to assess needs as organization grows.
  • Develop reporting and provide data analysis that helps to solve complex business problems, with an emphasis on ADP Workforce Now as the system of record.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field from accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in HR Business Partner roles. Experience should include proven track record supporting a rapidly scaling company preferably in an industrial processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with a variety of personnel across all lines and at all levels of business.
  • Well-developed influencing skills - ability to inspire confidence and drive consensus.
  • Intellectual agility to deal effectively with strategic issues and operational details.
  • Executive level oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now desired.
