Determines appropriate terms and conditions for coverages and rates for program profitability. Contributes to the profitable growth of specific program(s) by maintaining pricing integrity, product excellence, and the development of meaningful performance metrics and controls.

USA Job Function Description: Underwrites risk (i.e., selection/rejection of new and renewal business). Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports accordingly. Administers and monitors underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, laws and regulations. May review books of business as well as profit/growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans.

Essential Functions/Responsibilty Statements:
The Sr. Specialist, Consumer Lending Underwriting will be responsible for but not limited to the underwriting of unsecured loans ensuring compliance with appropriate company and secondary market investor standards. Examining loan documentations for accuracy and completeness while working with loan originator or production staff to secure all required documents
Evaluate creditworthiness of borrows in order to render a credit decision.
Works with other underwriters to ensure proper turnaround parameters and goals are met.
Must ensure all loans meet or exceed corporate credit policy
Analyze the business financial strength by examining annual earnings to determine stability and validity.
Involved in the daily management and workflow of the loan production office. Works with and interacts with loan officers, processors, and closers from the Loan Production Office.
Maintain current and fluid knowledge of investor and agency guidelines and adapt to changes quickly
Evaluate the application to determine if there are any other products or alternative terms available before issuance of denial.


Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, Economics, Communications or Equivalent field. (Req)

Work Experience:
Financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management., 3+ Years (Req)
Underwriting experience within a lending organization - online, credit card and/or installment loans preferred. , 3+ Years (Req)

Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills; accuracy, consistency and completeness is critical
Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment and be held to meet minimum production standards
Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills (written and verbal) -and negotiation
Proven knowledge of closing, post-closing & quality control responsibilities
Ability to review complex financial documents and make credit recommendations while adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirements
Attention to detail with proven ability to perform quality work while maintaining productivity and compliance standards.

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking.
